Is there anything vegan here??
Nice location for tasty french food. Really nothing but good experiences here. The bill was decent for the quality. Wish it was closer to my house, I would come every week.
MoreSmall good service.
Lovely outdoor tables.
Great indoor and outdoor place right in the heart of hyde park neighborhood. Prices are okay food is delicious, enjoy :-)
MoreThe pastries are great. I wish they still made the mini version of the morning roll, but the mini chocolate croissant is really good. Large coffee in a mug is really large!
MoreOne of my favorite locations for quality French food. Stopped in on a Monday I think. Looking forward to returning with my coworkers. Prices are fair. Feels similar to a restaurant in New York I loved.
MoreSimply outstanding! Shrimp and corn chowder with 1/2 sandwich: turkey and brie on a fresh baguette! Yummy!
MoreBull$^%t the baker, you might get a bun. Bull$#%t me son, you ain't gettin' none! This place is the real deal, no bull$#^t. I'll take as many buns there as I can get.
MoreThe macarons bring me back. The staff seems kind but some of the other reviewers on here have a point. This macarons, though, the best.
MoreNicest French bakers in the US.
I want to suport local business but in all three cases where I have come to this place i've had to find someone and remind them of my order after waiting far too long. Literally waiting inside at the bar. Then the coffee is really bad and the food is so so. I can't keep giving the place another shot and I'm hoping this criticism is read and heard. I don't know how this place survives.I can't think of anything more fundamental then bringing a customer's order to them. I literally walked out a moment ago without the coffee I paid for. I'll remember that everytime I walk by.
MoreBeautiful long time neighborhood bakery with many brunch and lunch choices, both sweet and savory.Credit accepted, both outdoor and indoor seating. Expect longer waits during weekends and holidays. Free parking lot.
MoreIt is one of the small restaurants that combine traditional and modern. Great. Past flavors with the future ...
MoreI was just reading the reviews and can’t believe some of them. I also can’t believe this place is still open with the lack of customer service witnessed. Bringing a customer their food should be a priority and not sitting it on the counter and prompting the customer to get up to take it. Also, getting the front desk help to understand you want soft cooked eggs and not fried was a task too. No smiles, no thank you for your business, long wait times, nothing to prompt me to return. Also, overpriced for portion size; 5$ for a very small hot cocoa is ridiculous. I’m done with this place, just done.
MoreGood Coffee and a good sandwich. A great place to meet a client or a friend. One of the few places that feels like a home instead of a commodity cafe.
MoreSmall, tiny place but good food. Best coffee in Hyde Park. Service can be slow at times.
MoreSmoked Salmon breakfast & Quiche Breakfast. Their baked goods are very fresh and delicious, and the smoked salmon omelette had generous amounts of smoked salmon :)
MoreIt was exactly what I was looking for: cozy, great desserts, excellent coffee, plenty of parking and good shopping near by.
MoreMy favorite place for tasty French food. the place has an awesome atmosphere.
Colleagues and I make a trip out to Bonjour Café on slow days and it really hits the spot. During the warmer months, there is additional seating outdoors and it's very nice to have some coffee and sandwiches. Seating indoors fills up quickly, especially during the lunch rush (around 11:00–1:00) so assume longer than usual waits and you should probably just get your meal to-go and hope a table opens up.Croque Madam is a great pick, grab it if you haven't had one before. It's heavy, so make sure to order a black tea or coffee with it so you don't fall asleep once you're done.
MoreVery unfriendly towards ethnic diverse individuals. My cookie was stale and the macaroon was not fresh. Also, overpriced for the portion size. 1st and last time. .won't return!
MoreWho likes parks I do and this park Is beautiful
Excellent customer service experience.
Pastry were dry and not the best customer service.
The place serves big dishes and for affordable pricing. nice employees. Great work.
MoreWonderful baked goods and pastries. Friendly service.
A little overpriced, but delicious and the staff is very friendly
I eat here a lot since I work in the area. I must say their customer service is always awesome and they keep the spot clean constantly. Rates are reasonable and they serve big portions.
MoreA little expensive yet authentic french. Unless you speak fluent french they don't like speaking conversational french with you. Sad.
MoreFriendly people and delicious desserts. Just as an fyi if you want to pay with your credit/debit card it must be over $4.00 dollars. I don't really have any complaints. It is a solid cafe with a nice cozy feel along with it.
MoreAuthentic French Bakery, very true to the real French recipes and taste. Nice atmosphere, smiley crowd and employees. Recommend for sure!
MoreI previously gave a review for the bakery portion of this place, which is an outstanding 4 stars. I came here for brunch for the first time and was not super impressed. It has a cute outdoor area, but the menu was quite limited. Omelette and eggs. No crepes! :-(
MoreTheir pastries are good and I really like the atmosphere, it's very colorful. It sucks that they have no outlets and no bathroom though
MoreThe pastries are great. I wish they still made the mini version of the morning roll, but the mini chocolate croissant is really good. Large coffee in a mug is really large!
MoreQuality, taste and selection
Took a student from France she felt like she was back home. Great!
True and delicious French patisserie in Chicago. Worth driving South to try their pain au raisins or their flaky-fresh made croissants. Highly recommend!
Moretwo days ago was our first time in this magnificent restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last. We passed a splendid evening with the attentive service, with the high quality food and booze and with the honest cost. We will definitely return there soon.
MoreThe place is aspiring to be authentically French and “frenchness” is everywhere there except in the bakery they serve. It is typical North American bakery - extremely sweet and plain otherwise with little other flavours. It is something one can buy in Walmart. Definitely overpriced. Coffee is good
MoreGreat hot Chocolate, good service
Excellent pastries. Nice, if small, selection of breakfast and lunch entrees.
Best spot to grab something when in a rush. Their service is prompt, prices are reasonable, great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place
MoreGreat place lovely food pantries like art
The menu and service were beyond our expectations. We absolutely enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant. Awesome place to take my family out for dinner.
MoreVery good sweats.
This place has the worst customer service. I'm a student and had planned to do some work at this cafe, but the manager went on a 10 min rant after I asked her for the wifi password. Apparently the pastry and coffee I had bought we're not enough to earn me a sit at one of her tables. I'm sympathetic to her wanting to save the tables for customers that are eating - but you should let people know in advance. If I had known, I wouldn't have bothered buying anything in the first place. The coffee and pastries are mediocre at best and definitely not worth dealing with that angry woman
MoreVery French. Great food. Reasonable prices. Wonderful service.
Beautiful ambience in décor but the owner who is French is a little off putting. I had the smoke salmon Omelet it was delicious
